For What It’s Worth…

Let me clearly state that I am not now, nor have I ever been considered normal, traditional or “run-of-the mill”. My journey into the metaphysical realm is most certainly in its infancy and subject to change based on daily life, knowledge, and wisdom yet to be experienced and learned.

The compilation of this information serves as my Grimoire and contribution to others who are investigating the metaphysical realm. I do my best to remain respectful of traditional practices; however, I do not wish to be constrained by the day of the week or moon’s cycle. Most times, I feel a whim to try something new without bringing out practiced workings, spells, or rituals.

I believe that these whims to be, prompts from the universe to fill an unnoticed gap. I feel that these prompts should not be ignored but rather embraced and acted upon. I do research before I add a smidgeon here or a pinch there. I decided that there must be a reason I feel the need to add extra botanicals, break out additional crystals, or simply make a batch of cookies to share with visitors to my mountain-top home. Usually, I am unaware of the why, but sometimes the reason is learned.

Recently, I collected and measured ingredients for a drawing salve that my great-grandmother used to make. Before I could even get started, I decided to include “off recipe” essential oils to add healing properties to the salve. I shared the additions with the aunt who had given me the recipe and we discussed the additional advantages. A few days later, I received a return call requesting a bit of my “new and improved” healing & drawing salve. The original recipe that was being used was not having the desired effects. Overnight, the improvement was remarkable and within a few days it was evident the additions to the family recipe worked!

A small, thoughtful act or kind gesture may make all the difference to someone. If you adore the shoes of the person ahead of you in line don’t be afraid to let them know how fabulous the footwear is! Smile and say, “Hello” to those you pass on the street, let them know they are noticed. Spreading positive energy to those you are around, or encounter should be a way of life. This is also true for motivations and intentions. There is always a degree of self in motivations and intentions. Who doesn’t like to feel good for a job well done? The motivating factor should not be receiving kudos or anticipating a pat on the back. You should be continually and mindfully pushing your positive energy into the universe.

As you continue investigating, learning, and practicing magick remember, to take a step back for a broader view. Reflect on past experiences and how they may fit into the metaphysical realm. The way you choose to use magick in your life is completely your choice and only limited by your creativity and preferences. Learning the basics of magick helps improve your understanding and ultimately affects your workings. The information presented herein is an amalgamation of literally hundreds if not thousands of websites, books, and personal experiences. Most of it is generally agreed upon, however the most important aspect is how you feel about any subject, action, or item. We all relate in different ways, feel free to experiment to find what works best for you.
